Research

Since I used to live relatively close to the Washington DC, I decided that I wanted to pick a venue from that area. Once I started thinking of local bands that I would want to headline the event, I immediately came up with Northern Virginia's own Foo Fighters. Their lead singer and founding band member, Dave Grohl, is a part owner of the DC venue, the "Black Cat". The pairing just made perfect sense. For the rest of the lineup, I chose a couple of bands that I liked as well as a band (HUM) that had a similar type sound to the Foo Fighters.

The Solution

Incorporating a dark, yet sleek and classy aesthetic, I've carefully balanced elements to evoke the edginess of rock while maintaining a sense of sophistication. The dark backdrop serves as a canvas for the bands' names, each uniquely illustrated to pay homage to their distinctive styles. UFOs hover mysteriously for the Foo Fighters, a flask emerges for Larry and his Flask, a sword slashes through for RPG, and musical notes dance in harmony for HUM.
